Calling All You Angels

Author: ziggy

I’m attempting to keep some semblance of normalcy for the kids.  We still do laundry and chores and what not.  While the world is falling apart all around us, sometimes the most mundane of actions keeps you grounded.  In other words, I wash the dishes to keep from going crazy right now.

On the way back from the grocery store yesterday, I was feeling mighty low.  I have no desire to write or move or think.  I’m on auto pilot, honestly.  Most of the time, it’s a struggle to even turn on the cell phone.

Anyhoo, while en route back to our soon to be ex-home (can’t afford the mortgage and medical bills), as I said, I was seeing only gray.  I’m perfectly capable of putting on the face for my kids.  You know how we mothers are, smile, smile, smile.  We try not to let the children know how much we suffer.  But yesterday, was really bad.

Then, I heard a song I hadn’t heard in years.  And the tears fell.  And I had to pull over and get a grip.  And I can almost see daylight, again.  So, I thought I’d post some of the lyrics that really touched me, for all of us going through the storm right now.  It’s a song by the group, Train, and its titled, “Angels”, I believe.

And I’m calling all angels!!

I won’t give up, if you don’t give up!!

And I’m calling all YOU angels.

I won’t give up, if you don’t give up!!

Let us remind ourselves that love is an action word.  We pray, we sympathize, we secretly thank our God that its not us that’s suffering.  But what are we DOING to actually alleviate another’s pain.  Forgive them, Father, for they know not what they do.

One Response to “Calling All You Angels”

  1. Ms. Campbell Says:

Oh how my heart aches. Oh how I pray fervently on you and your family’s behalf. Oh how I wish I could find the words and the verses that would give you immediate comfort and lift your burden.

You spoke His word without citing it. God instructs us to love beyond words.

1 John 3:18 (New International Version)

“Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.”

He is faithful to those who believe. I admire your strength to smile. I pray that you continue to have the strength to do so. He is sending you your “rams/angels” in the bush even when the enemy wants to keep you blinded by circumstance. You have an amazing willingness to focus on what you can handle and leave the rest to Him.

In the midst of it all you are blessed and I am blessed to call you friend. Love you sis.

    Matthew 5:3-10

3″Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
    4Blessed are those who mourn,
    for they will be comforted.
    5Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
6Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
    for they will be filled.
    7Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
8Blessed are the pure in heart,
    for they will see God.
    9Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called sons of God.
10Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
